BMJ Open Faculty Publication: Co-contributors Vedam. S & Bayrampour. H

UBC Midwifery Professor and Lead Investigator for The Birth Place Lab Saraswathi Vedam and UBC Midwifery Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator for our Perinatal Wellbeing Research team Hamideh Bayrampour, have, along with other UBC faculty and alums, contributed to a protocol “Teaching by texting to promote positive health behaviours in pregnancy: a protocol for a randomised controlled trial of SmartMom™” recently published in the BMJ Open.

UBC Professor Patricia (Patti) Janssen, the Co-lead Maternal Child Health at UBC’s School of Population and Public Health(SPPH), provided justification for the study, a long-time supporter of midwifery; Janssen is also the CEO of SmartMom™, Canada’s first prenatal and parenting programs delivered by text.
